Mastic Review: "Don't buy this siding"

I installed this siding myself, and initially it looked fine. Then I noticed "bumps" in the siding. Basically, it looked like someone hit golfballs from the inside of the house against the back of the vinyl. I sent Plygem pictures and a sample and now they walked away from it and chalked it off to "installers" error. Though I'm a homeowner, I'm handy and know to leave a gap between the siding and the sheathing. I followed their instructions to a "t". Stay away from Mastic and Plygem.

The product updated my houses appearance and gave a look that my neighbors mistook for real wood siding. Low maintenance, clean look, and piece of mind knowing that I have a lifetime warranty covering the whole exterior of my house from the drip edge, gutters, siding, windows, and accessories

Mastic Review: "Mastic Vinyl Shutters"

I have had Mastic vinyl shutters on my house for 6 years now. They have faded horribly and the color is actually bleeding onto my house. The response from Mastic/PlyGem has been unacceptable. I initially received a form letter denying my claim. After speaking with two gentlemen in their Warranty Technical Service department and their sales manager, I was told that their shutters will bleed onto the house and it is my responsibility to take care of cleaning. I was actually told I should have the house pressure washed twice a year for preventive maintenance. That is totally ridiculous and I would not recommend their products to anyone.

Mastic Review: "Structure Insulated siding is the way to go"

I had Mastic Structure Single 7 Harbor Grey siding installed last year and have noticed that the home is quieter and less drafty than the previous new construction siding. A little expensive but well worth the look and savings so far during hot and cold seasons.

Mastic Review: "Warning - trim color fades - not covered by warranty"

Contractor installed Mastic vinyl siding during a remodel three years ago. Twelve months later, the trim (aluminum trim coil) color had changed from taupe/gray to beige. Ply Gem/Mastic warranty covers the vinyl part of the siding system, but the aluminum trim is not covered - at least for colorfastness. So, now I will have to paint the trim to match the siding. Lousy product, lousy warranty.

6 years ago, we had cedar shake Mastic siding installed on our home. It has faded terribly with what is called chalking, has shifted so that the joints are exposed, and much of the siding is literally falling off our house. My suggestion is stay away from the Cedar type of Mastic Siding. It is the most expensive type of Mastic siding.

I have been a vinyl siding owner forr over twenty years and I wouldn't have it any other way. I love all the different colors it comes in. I've never had to repair it, or replace it. The only thing that i would have to say in negativity towards this product would be the price. Vinyl siding is a little pricy, but when you look at how long it lasts, the two cannot compare. It is also very easy to clean. You don't need any heavy abraisive cleaners, you don't even have to use a pressure washer. I would very much reccomend this product to everyone i know. If needed , but not likely, I would most certainly purchase vinyl siding for my house, but being that it virtually lasts forever, there will be no need.

We have lived in our Mastic wooden siding house for a little of a year. December 2009 is when we moved in. Everyone loves the look of our wooden siding on the house. It has much more character than the vinyl siding more common in our neighborhood. We have received several compliments on how good it looks. We have yet to experience any problems with the siding. No repairs have been necessary. We even had a horrible ice storm that cracked some vinyl on our street but our house came through unscathed. Thankfully we got a warranty if there ever are any problems, but I am not anticipating any. Overall we have had a very good experience with our Mastic siding and are very happy about our decision to purchase it. I would recommend going with wooden siding to anyone who asked for my opinion. Mastic has a lifelong customer in my family so far.

Mastic Review: "Mastic Vinyl Siding+++"

I have had my Mastic Vinyl Siding for over a year and a half now. I have had no issues with fading or damage. The siding cleans well, is durable and tolerates the weather well. I love the color and the dutch lap. The price was a bit above average, but I consider it money well spent. It came with manufacturer's warranty not to fade for 10 years. My contractor recommended it to me, and I would recommend it to anyone, including my family and friends. I am satisified with Mastic and would use them again
