CertainTeed Review: "A Personal reveiew of Cement Siding from a Homeowner"

I have had cement siding on my 3 bedroom one story woodframe house for 15 years. I must admit that a have been extremely satisfied i didnt expect i would keep it this long. I decidied to go woth Certainteed brand prefinished 7" random square staggered edge. It came ready to put up and no need for painting. I ordered the ten color however it began to fade a little after ten years and i decided to paint it the same color. I painted it after haveing it matced up and it looks brand new again. It seems to protect and insulate the wood on my house better that other types of siding. after installing it I also noticed a drop in my cooling and heating costs for my home due tot he insulating properties. As a homeowner I am very satisfied with cement siding as opposed to other types.My only complaint with cement siding is of you accidentally hit your house say with a heavy ladder or something it will crack and you must patch it. Its more brittle than other types of siding however it has satisfied me overall alot more than any other type. I reccomend cement siding to any homeowner that is considering siding Thank you certainteed from a very satisfied customer

I've owned my cement siding now for about 2 years, and for as long as I've had it, I've had almost no problems. Let me tell you why I feel this way and to what I can attribute it to. I've been so content because when I initially went on the search for some quality cement sidings, I made sure I didn't just go with the first thing that looked good. I looked for a good few weeks, and seeing as this was definitely an investment of money, it should also be an investment of time. When I happened across this brand, it gave me the impression that it was the right look and feel for my home, and importantly, the warranty on these sidings was solid, and the price was very acceptable. Another big plus is that I haven't had to run a single repair on them in the 2 years I've owned them. It's a product I would definitely recommend to either a friend or a stranger, and if I needed to buy some cement sidings, I'd would go with this brand once more.

I have been quite satisfied with this siding. I had it installed approximately 18 months ago and so far I have not needed to conduct any repairs. The color is crisp and clean, and the siding looks as great now as it did right after we had it installed. The grains look entirely authentic, but since it's not made only of wood we're pretty much guaranteed not to get a termite infestation and we also won't have to worry about rotting. My husband and some friends put the siding up without hiring a contractor, which I was initially worried about; however, the pieces were significantly lighter than we expected them to be, and installation was breezy! What I love the most is that these siding pieces are extremely durable and resistant to damage, but they're lighter and less dense than the wooden siding they emulate. It's great. I would definitely recommend this brand to anyone.

CertainTeed Review: "Cement siding saved our home"

I can honestly say that the exterior of our home was on it's last limb. When our 4 year old asked us why our house was "coming apart," I told my wife that it was time to get some new siding. We have now had our new cement siding for about 3 years, and it has stood up really well to the crazy weather where we live. It hasn't chipped or cracked, or folded. It is really humid where we live, so I was concerned about this and did a lot of research before deciding on cement siding. Also, we have a lot of termites in the area, and from the beginning I knew that wood wasn't an option for us. I picked a vertical style siding, which no one else has in our neighborhood. Since we installed our siding, a lot of random people in our neighborhood have asked us about it, and another house down the block ended up using the same brand we did when they remodeled. I don't have any complaints, and I am really glad we chose cement instead of vinyl or wood. We had a lot more options to choose from, and I am really happy that I won't have to worry about replacing the exterior again any time soon.

CertainTeed Review: "Very Durable and Reliable"

I owned the siding for around 10 years. I like the durability and reliability. I only had a few chips after a few years and it looked great. I dislike that when it cracks the cracks start spreading unless you fill them as soon as they happen. I have had to repair it a few times but they were small repairs that i am now doing myself. The only repairs i have made are small crack fillings and they take less than five minutes. I would definitely go with the same company again. They were very reliable and they showed up ready to work everyday. My friend recommended the company and said they loved it and i was going in with high expectations and they exceeded my expectations. The reason they exceeded my expectation was because they showed up wanting to work they greeted me and kept the noise to a minimum.

CertainTeed Review: "This Siding Worked, But It Wasn't Perfect"

CertainTeed cement siding has been a satisfying product for me. I am very happy with how this product has improved the look and durability of my home's exterior. This siding has made it a lot easier to control the temperature of my house. Although there are a few caveats. I installing this siding about a year ago, and there has been very little wear or tear. Judging from the condition of the siding, I feel sure that this product will last for many years to come. If I have one complaint, it's that the siding can become a bit drab looking. Spraying it with a hose can help, but it doesn't always do enough. I've been considering repainting my siding, but I feel that it will be prohibitively expensive to do so. Also, although they were initially helpful, there were a couple of occasions when I called the company and didn't receive helpful responses. Overall though, I was satisfied with the product, but wish that it had a few more perks to make it worthwhile. I would definitely buy the same brand again, but not before doing a little shopping around.

When we were remodeling our house about fifteen years ago, I chose CertainTeed Cement siding for the west side of our house, since it faces away from the road and I did not have money for more expensive siding. For the most part, I have been very pleased with the quality of the siding. The people who installed it initially made a few errors which caused the siding to crack, but that was no fault of the manufacturer, and we received a discount because of the faulty installation. The rest of the siding has not cracked, and has shown minimal signs of aging over the past decade, which is surprising, given the taxing environment we have put it in. My two sons, for instance, are constantly using the siding as a backboard to play "wall ball" with their lacrosse balls, bouncing hundreds of balls against it daily, and muddy ones at that. I periodically hose off the siding, and all the mud stains come off relatively quickly. From time to time, I also use a power washer to get rid of the accumulation of dirt, which is largely due to the dusty backyard we have, and unlike the cement on my sidewalk, which acts like a sponge to dirt and mud, the cement siding is easy to clean. I would recommend this product to absolutely anyone - it has never let us down!

I always go for cheap. I had already had metal sif=ding on my house and they didnt work. So I wanted to go for a new type of siding for my house. I thought that cement would be more depenable and it was. It lasted me fro years and I even still have them on my house now. It have been abotu 5 years no. The brand that I brought was, Certain Teed. These cement siding was indeed low maintance. And I lohve them. I woudl recommend to anyone because they are nice & looks great as well.

I've owned my cement siding for about 5 years. I love the look of it. I've had no problems with it and it looks as new as the day I bought it. So far I haven't had any weeds push up through it. There really isn't anything I dislike about the cement siding. I've never had to repair or replace it, as i said before it looks as new as the day I had it installed. I would definitely buy the same brand again, and I have in fact recommended it to a few friends. And after they'd seen what mine looks like they have gone out and gotten the same brand themselves.
